Birds Draft TE Dallas Goedert

Matt Finocchio - Head Writer

The Eagles traded the 52nd & 169th overall picks to the Indianapolis Colts to move up three spots to pick No. 49 (jumping the Dallas Cowboys) to select South Dakota State tight end, Dallas Goedert.

This pick was great for multiple reasons; the Eagles get a stud tight end to fill the void left by the departure of Brent Celek and Trey Burton while simultaneously hurting the Cowboys (they reportedly had interest in Goedert as Jason Witten just announced his retirement earlier today).

At 6’5” 256lbs, Dalla Goedert will create match-up nightmares for opposing teams when on the field with Zach Ertz and Alshon Jeffery. The Eagles red zone offense just got even more dangerous.

I never thought I’d say these words, but...Go Dallas?

Nah, that felt too weird…definitely calling him Goedert from here on out.
