Offensive coordinator Frank Reich has officially accepted the head coaching job for the Indianapolis Colts.

This feels like a huge blow to the Eagles offensive staff, as they have now lost both their quarterbacks coach (John DeFilippo) and offensive coordinator just days after their impressive Super Bowl performance.

As of a few days ago, it was all-but-official that Patriots offensive coordinator Josh Mcdaniels was going to take the Colts gig.  Unfortunately for the Eagles, McDaniels backed out at the last second, leaving a tempting head coaching vacancy open for the well-deserving Frank Reich.

One must assume that Reich would have stayed put as Eagles OC if McDaniels took the Indy Job.  Or, if Reich took the Indy job prior to DeFilippo heading to Minnesota, DeFilippo would have likely stayed with the Eagles and got promoted to coordinator.

It will be exciting to see how Reich does in Indy (provided he has a healthy Andrew Luck). However, now the Eagles must look to fill the void of both John DeFilippo AND Frank Reich.

Thanks a lot, McDaniels…
